Ahmedabad Creates Guinness World Record by Planting 3.61 Lakh Trees in One Hour

Ahmedabad has made a Guinness World Record by planting 3.61 lakh trees in just one hour using Miyawaki technique. The initiative took place through the efforts of Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) on July 12 where 25,000 people gathered at Bhadaj.

In this activity, a total area of 76,000 square meters was used for planting about 35 types of native trees. The activity was part of a larger campaign to plant 12.5 crore trees in the area which was initiated by the Union Minister Amit Shah who is also member of the parliament from Gandhinagar.

Various representatives from AMC, the educational board, police department, NCC cadets, volunteers of the BAPS groups, CREDAI members, non-Government organizations, representatives of educational institutions, and many more than a thousand ordinary people are involved in this big activity together with the Chief Minister of Gujarat, Bhupendra Patel, and many important ministers, government officials, and public representatives.

This achievement made Ahmedabad a place in the Guinness World Records, showing the city’s commitment to achieving sustainable urbanization and sky-high environmental protection which will become a perfect example for many other cities in India.

At Gujpreneur, we celebrate initiatives that highlight Gujarat’s leadership in sustainability, innovation and community-led development. Ahmedabad’s latest achievement stands as proof of how collective action can have a lasting environmental impact and inspire cities across the world.
