Summer Looks to Beat the Heat in Ahmedabad: Fuss-Free & Fashion-Forward
As the Ahmedabad heat kicks in, our wardrobes need a seasonal switch — one that blends breathable fabrics, fuss-free silhouettes, and style that feels effortless yet elevated. As a stylist and content creator, I love mixing Western pieces with semi-Indian elements — and summer is the perfect season to embrace that fusion.
What Works Best in Ahmedabad Summers?
1. Fabric First:
Think of mulmul, cotton, muslin, chanderi, kota, and soft linens. These fabrics are ideal for Ahmedabad’s dry, hot climate.
2. Semi-Indian Staples:
Straight fit or flowy kurtas paired with cotton dhotis, palazzos, or even denim culottes make for an easy and aesthetic summer outfit. Go for ikat, handblock, or tie-dye prints from local labels like Jharonka, Bandhej, Ciceroni or Paperlane Store.
3. Western, But Made for Heat:
Oversized shirts, breezy cotton coords, gingham skirts, linen blazers, tiered dresses, or midi skirts with racerback tanks — these are my go-to picks. Gingham skirts are trending this season — they’re fun, flirty, and perfect for brunches or even casual meetings. Pair them with crop tops, ribbed tanks, or a relaxed cotton shirt tucked in for a chic summer look.Brandslike The Summer House, Khara Kapas, House of Fett, and Rengé are doing some amazing pieces that balance structure and ease.
4. Summer Travel Edit
Summer is also about mini getaways and long holidays, and your travel outfits should check three boxes: lightweight, wrinkle-free, and versatile. Always carry a foldable hat, cotton scarf, and comfy sandals — they add both style and sun protection.
Homegrown brands like Nicobar, Global Desi, and The Loom offer great options that feel easy and luxe.
5. Accessorize the Smart Way
Skip heavy layers — go for statement pieces that elevate your look without overheating you.
• Woven, jute, and raffia textures in bags and belts bring in the summer vibe.
• Shell jewelry, oxidised silver, and wooden bangles or studs add a boho-glam touch.
• A pair of statement sliders or Kolhapuris work with both Indian and Western silhouettes.
• A cotton scarf or bandana can double up as sun protection and a chic hair accessory.
“Ahmedabad summers are intense — so your wardrobe has to work with the weather, not against it. I always say: wear outfits that allow your skin to breathe and your personality to shine. It’s not about layering more, but choosing smarter.” says Payal Patel
Vrinda Agarwal

When it comes to dressing for summer, comfort and breathability are key. I always recommend embracing lightweight, natural fabrics like cotton, mulmul, linen, and handwoven khadi—they allow your skin to breathe while keeping you effortlessly stylish.
This season, think easy silhouettes like flowy dresses, co-ordsets, kaftans, and breezy kurtas. Don’t shy away from a pop of color—pastels, citrus tones, and whites are perfect for the warmer months. And of course, layering with minimal jewelrycan instantly elevate your look without feeling heavy or overwhelming in the heat.
“One styling tip I swear by: less is more in summer. Let your outfit breathe, quite literally! Add a statement piece—be it a pair of earrings, a scarf, or even a bold bag—and keep the rest relaxed and natural.” says Vrinda Agarwal
Mr. Hardik Gandhi

Past few years except a month or so it’s usually warm, hot and humid in Gujarat.
And hence rather than focusing on just “summer” styling tips and pastel hues, I would rather advice on creating a 360-wardrobe and some garment selection tip that works all year round for us in Gujarat.
Fabrics :
• Avoid polyester.
• Rather than pure linen, go for cotton-linen blend (it will crease less and look structured for longer period)
• Naturally weaved denim is a breathable fabric and apt for casual style
• Some of the fabric company’s pricing are actually high due to their processing hence don’t think that they are looting, rather those are genuinely finer counts fabric.
• Cotton twill in trousers works best for summer office wears and even weekend life.
Styling :
• Avoid tight fitting clothes.
• Avoid too loose fitted clothes.
• Avoid low waist trousers and chose mid-rise.
• If wearing linen, wear it structured as it crumbles fast.
• Wear bright prints in oversize shirt style with mid-risestraight chinos.
• Linen or cotton jackets work well for layering.
• Try to play with details of the garments while tailoring.
• Rather than a linen suit, invest in a cotton suit and team up with polos and tees.
• Go monochrome if you have a good understanding of fabric.
“It’s all about having a good taste” says Hardik Gandhi
