Interarch Building Solutions Turn To Gujarat For Revenue Boost

Gujarat has turned into a magnet for manufacturing investors. With Interarch Building Solutions recently joining the bandwagon to increase its revenue by 2028.

The firm has commenced its work on a new pre-engineered building manufacturing facility in Kheda, Gujarat. It will significantly enhance the state’s industrial landscape, with the company announcing an investment of INR 70 crore.

In an interview with CNBC TV 18, Interarch Building Solutions CEO Manish Garg said, “We broke ground on our Kheda unit in Gujarat. It will take us about nine months to get it to the trial production stage. So, we will start trial production somewhere around June 2026, and we will have full production coming in by the end of December.

“Therefore, part of it will contribute to our FY26–27 revenues. But the next year, which is FY28, it will kick in fully. We would be adding about 40,000 metric tonnes in total. So, part of it will come in next year, and the rest of it in the year after that.”

Advantages Of Interarch Building Solutions’ Gujarat Expansion

The facility in Kheda will be built on a 12-acre site. It will initially have an installed capacity of 40,000 metric tonnes in the first phase.

Workers in the Kheda region will benefit from the new site, as it is expected to create at least 400 direct and indirect jobs.

Moreover, the plant is strategically placed near major ports to support exports to international markets and domestic operations.

Incidentally, the expansion in Gujarat completes the company’s pan-India manufacturing footprint, positioning it to serve high-growth sectors across West and Central India.

“We have already gone to 200,000 with the addition of Andhra and Kichha, which are now fully operational. With the addition of Kheda in Gujarat, we go up by another 40,000 tonnes. In fact, we broke ground for another one in Andhra, on a new land parcel of 20 acres, on September 27. That will add another 25,000 tonnes to our capacity,” Garg said.

“So, I would say over the next 12 months, we have these two major capex projects — one where we are spending about ₹80–82 crore, including the land, and another where we are spending ₹70 crore excluding the land,” he added.

Kheda is designed as one of the most advanced Pre-Engineered Building (PEB) manufacturing plants.

It will emphasize both automation and efficiency, supporting the company’s growth strategy. The company has set a target of INR 2,400 crore by FY28.

Interarch Building Solutions Focused On Robust Growth

Interarch is betting on the growing demand in renewables, electric vehicles, semiconductors, and data centres to set a new revenue benchmark in the next three years.

The company is already working on major projects in Gujarat. It includes India’s first semiconductor chip manufacturing unit in Sanand.

Besides that the company is also working on a large tyre manufacturing unit in Bhuj. Interarch has previously tied up with Adani, Aditya Birla, Reliance Energy, and Asian Paints.

“The demand is very robust, and our order book stands strong — as strong as it used to be quarter on quarter. There are new avenues also in the new-age sectors like data centres, semiconductors, and electric vehicle (EV) batteries. So, we see very strong traction in demand, and that’s why the capacity expansion,” Garg said.

Sectors Driving Demand For Interarch

Interarch builds its business in pre-engineered steel buildings (PEBs), metal ceilings, roofing & cladding systems, and turnkey steel construction solutions. In Gujarat, the sectors demanding these solutions are evolving rapidly.

With Gujarat promoting these sectors, Interarch’s decision to expand ensures it is well-placed for the demand in the state. The state benefits from the upstream supply chain localisation of such firms.

As per Garg, Interarch is currently focused towards the export market. He believes that the numbers in revenue will take some time to reflect as they’re building the base.

“I would say we are currently building the market for exports. So, the numbers are not yet very significant in terms of actual sales, but we are building the export base. A lot of our business is domestic, but yes, we are developing exports. The numbers will start to come in a bit later,” Garg said.

“In terms of domestic business, it’s very strong. In fact, at the end of the last quarter, we had announced an order book of approximately ₹1,700 crore, and it remains strong even now. We are in discussions for several large orders across various sectors, including manufacturing, institutional, as well as infrastructure,” he added.

Overall, Interarch Building Solutions’ decision to open a plant in Gujarat is more than expansion. It aligns the fast-growing company with the state building manufacturing credentials.

For Gujarat, it is another building block to becoming India’s pre-eminent manufacturing and exports hub. If you like to read more such stories, stay tuned with us at Gujpreneur.
