Search for almost any Gujarat student startup grant, and one name keeps coming up is i-Hub. The college’s notice board mentions it. Government pages link to it. Application forms start on its portal.
Yet most of the information is delivered assuming you already know what it is. But you may not. And that is a fair place to start.
i-Hub is the Gujarat government’s startup support centre in Ahmedabad. It offers grants, incubation, patent help, and even a desk to work from. This guide covers what you get and how to apply, with official links. It is part of Gujpreneur’s series on Gujarat startup schemes.
What Is i-Hub Gujarat?
The Gujarat Student Startup and Innovation Hub is a Section 8 company. The Education Department, Government of Gujarat, set it up under SSIP. Its stated goal is to build “Mind-to-Market” pathways for innovators.
Here is the simple way to see it. SSIP 2.0 is the policy. i-Hub is where much of that policy turns into real support. The policy has a ₹500 crore fund and runs until 31 March 2027. It offers up to ₹2.5 lakh per prototype in higher education, plus patent help. We covered the full rules in our SSIP 2.0 eligibility and benefits guide. i-Hub’s grants build on that base.
The homepage lists 15 flagship programs, 137 academic partners, and 1,458 connected mentors.

Co-working Desk at i-Hub
The co-working space is in Navrangpura, Ahmedabad. A seat costs ₹3,000 a month plus taxes. You can book up to 10 seats for a maximum of two years.
You should be at the prototype, MVP, or early-revenue stage. DPIIT-recognised startups and those backed by SSIP or Srujan get preference. Seats include Wi-Fi, meeting rooms, printing, parking, and networking events.
Where i-Hub Fits With Other Gujarat Grants
i-Hub is not the only door. The state’s separate Startup Gujarat seed support offers up to ₹30 lakh through approved nodal institutes. The central Startup India Seed Fund Scheme offers a ₹20 lakh grant and up to ₹50 lakh in debt. i-Hub’s own site even lists startups it has supported under both.
Windows for these change often. We track them in our monthly list of active Gujarat startup grants. Check it before you apply anywhere.
Conclusion
Think of i-Hub as one place with many doors. Start with Srujan for money, add Startup Grow for guidance, and use the IP centre before you publish your idea.
One caution. The i-Hub homepage invites applications for Srujan Cohort 4, but the Srujan page still shows older text. Always log in to the portal for live dates. Building in Gujarat? Register with Gujpreneur or read more in our Startups section.
