Ektaal 2026: One With Light, A Celebration Of Rhythm and Belonging

Garba is an integral part of Gujarat’s cultural identity, but what makes every celebration memorable is the experience it creates. Held on 16th October 2026 at Vasudhara by Parva Spaces, Ahmedabad, Ektaal brought a distinct approach to traditional Garba through thoughtful design, live music and a concept rooted in togetherness. Centred around the theme One With Light, the event celebrated devotion, cultural expression and the simple emotion of  મળવાનું મન — the desire to meet.

One With Light: The Thought Behind The Decor

The decor at Ektaal was developed around the philosophy of One With Light, drawing inspiration from the five elements of nature – Earth, Water, Fire, Air, and Spaces.

Through earthy textures, traditional diyas, lighting and carefully designed installations, the space brought together natural elements and the spiritual significance of Garba. Each detail contributed to the larger concept, creating an environment that complemented the celebration rather than simply serving as a backdrop.

The central thought was to explore light beyond its physical form, connecting it with devotion, inner energy and the presence of Mataji.

A Garba Experience Centred on Togetherness

While Ahmedabad hosts numerous Garba celebrations, Ektaal’s approach was rooted in a simple observation: not every gathering needs to be defined by its size.

The idea of મળવાનું મન shaped an experience centred on meeting friends, making new connections and enjoying Garba in a setting that encouraged participation.

With live music, a thoughtfully designed environment and an emphasis on shared experiences, Ektaal brought people together through a familiar tradition.

Its expression, Many Steps. One Rhythm, reflected the essence of the evening.

The People and Vision Behind Ektaal

Ektaal was brought together through the collaboration of three creative teams, combining expertise in decor, branding and event execution.

Sagar and Chandni Patel of Kankoo Thapa led the artistic direction and decor, translating the theme into a visual experience inspired by nature, tradition and spirituality. The branding approach focused on establishing an emotional connection through the familiar Gujarati sentiment of મળવાનું મન.

Meet Jatakia of Reflect Branding contributed to the event’s conceptual Marketing, promotions  and communication.

Aakash Shah of Artistry Events brought the event planning and execution perspective, bringing the concept together as an immersive Garba experience.

The collaboration demonstrated how a common vision, supported by different creative disciplines, can give a cultural event a clear and recognisable identity.

The Art and Artist Behind the Celebration

Bhumik Shah’s live performance was a key highlight of Ektaal 2026, bringing traditional Garba and folk music to the evening.

The musical experience complemented the event’s artistic direction, with the decor, visual identity and live performance contributing to a cohesive celebration.

Together, these elements reflected the intention behind Ektaal — to present Garba as a cultural experience that brings music, art and people into one space.

A Celebration Rooted in Tradition

Ektaal 2026 offered an example of how a traditional celebration can be presented through contemporary design and meaningful storytelling without losing its cultural significance.

From the symbolism of light to the collective rhythm of Garba and the tradition of sharing Prasad, the event remained connected to the values of devotion and togetherness.

More importantly, it reinforced the thought that inspired its creation: sometimes, the simplest reason to celebrate is the desire to come together.
