Scoops for Happiness: Gujarat’s Ice Cream Brands

On July 20th, the nation celebrates Ice Cream Day, which evokes a nostalgic feeling about how one simple treat can lay the groundwork for so many joyful memories in anyone’s life. With that said, the night is usually about gathering with family and, of course, splurging on some ice cream to escape the summer heat.

Ice cream here in Gujarat has always held an endearing charm in people’s hearts. So much so that indigenously grown brands took off from humble little shops to household brand names. They are not just businesses. What makes these ice creams stand out is the love and care. These flavors speak of fresh ingredients and unique pairings, but mostly pride in serving their communities. Ice cream business in Gujarat means so much more than just cold stuff- It is the bridging tradition between generations!

Paying tribute to the people, flavors, and spirit of Gujarat that keep the ice cream culture alive is National Ice Cream Day.

Gujarat-based Ice cream brands:

Sheetal Ice Cream

Sheetal Ice cream was started in 1987 in Amreli by Jagdishbhai D. Bhuva and Bhupat Bhava. The legacy is now carried forward by Yash Bhuva, Director – Sales & Operations. From ₹10,000 crore in 2015 to nearly ₹19,000 crore in 2025—the ice cream industry hasn’t just grown in size, it’s matured beautifully. What was once a summer treat is now a year-round pick-me-up. Availability has gone from occasional to omnipresent—even the smallest kirana stores now stock freezers. And now, with healthier options entering the mix, it’s like adding a cherry on top. At Sheetal, we’ve just stayed true to what we know: real milk, real products, and no shortcuts. Growth is great, but earning trust—that’s the real win– Yash Bhuva, Director, Sales & Operations, Sheetal Ice cream.
